Starbucks


I just have to write about my local Starbucks because it is an enchanting place. I have gotten buy one get one free like three times which is always super confusing because I swear I only ordered one drink but they always give me two. The workers have also tried to get me to download the app that will also let me buy one and get one free. The workers are seriously the nicest people! A couple of workers remember my name, but one time I just said my name was Jo because I know that's easier to write than Joanna. However, in Chinese Jo is the word for number nine so they all thought this was hilarious. Also in the States I am truely irritated by children in Starbucks but here I got to play with a little random boy next to me and he touched my heart. I felt like the Grinch of Starbucks. So children in Starbucks is totally okay with me.

It's amazing how well God knows my heart and how I feel, because every time I am having a rough day He sends one or a few first graders over with big hugs! My first graders are amazing students very attentive and eager to learn, but apparently not all teachers have that privilege with them. One of the first grade teachers was just fired! I couldn't believe it because they are so good for me every time I teach. Put Your Phone Down!

Recently, I have just been so annoyed by people constantly being on their phones. I have never been so thankful that my father made the rule "no phones at the table."  When you are with your friends or family, you should "be with them." That doesn't mean talking to someone on snapchat or messenger, while you are with them. Just put the phone down and give them your undivided attention. How I feel when someone is on their phone at the dinner table or on a date is that I am not interesting or entertaining enough for them. If my phone is down and we are talking and you pick yours up to reply to a message or snap, what am I suppose to do while you play on your phone? We should all just put our phones down and be at the table talking to our friends or family, instead of sitting at a table just playing on our phones. God is Good All the Time

Our Bible study group worked through a video series based of the book "This was Your Life" which is really excellent. I have read the book twice and watched the video series! It is REALLY good! One of the craziest points in the book was that every sin begins with the suspicion that God is not good. Our minds are a constant battle field of good and evil, but the moment that we think that God is not good is the moment that sin begins to grow. God said that his love is "unfailing", so why do we doubt that?  When I look back on my life and all of my answers prayers I know God is good and if that is not enough the Bible clearly states that God is good ALL THE TIME. I just need to put my trust in the truth and believe that he is good and everything works out for good. " For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD.
